Under Control

Under Control captures the fragility of holding oneself together. The composition centers around a grayscale cutout of a person, their face covered by their own hands, in an act of distress or denial. A dark, abstract shape hovers over the head — like a container for emotion or memory — its placement both protective and oppressive.

A green thread bisects the image horizontally, held in place with tape — an immediate metaphor for restraint, for trying to hold the line. Above this, a rhythmic arc of small organic shapes creates motion: a suggestion of thought, imbalance, or escape. Black spots in the lower left corner mimic punctuation or wounds — intentional, subtle, unresolved.
