Thresholds is a tension-filled visual poem about transition, resistance, and what grows at the edge. A black form with subtle photographic texture and an arched back emerges on the left — its head sprouting delicate red-tipped branches, symbolizing fragility, transformation, or suppressed growth. The figure is caught between two vast, nearly oppressive black fields, separated by a narrow golden-yellow pattern that acts as both wall and passage.
The visual language here is architectural and emotional at once: grids, blocks, edges, and stitching-like verticals build a composition that speaks of order and its unraveling. The strips of white tape at top and bottom border the composition like closed seams — a reminder that not everything is meant to break open.
This work powerfully explores containment, displacement, and emotional cartography, and is suited for collections in contemporary abstraction, feminist visual narrative, and symbolic spatial art
