Eye of Protection

Eye of Protection is a ceramic pairing of a 20 cm bowl and a 25 cm plate, both created using underglaze painting techniques (Unterglasurmalerei). Part of the Cheschm-Nazar collection, these pieces draw on the centuries-old symbolism of the protective eye motif found in Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cultures.

The central motif—an abstracted eye adorned with geometric and floral forms—is both talismanic and decorative. Painted in rich blues and greens, the composition evokes spiritual safeguarding, aesthetic balance, and cultural continuity.
